With all the letters I have been writing in the Free Lance for
the past 10 months, I am sure you know me by now. Many people have
been telling me to continue to write because my letters make a lot
of sense and are interesting to read. I am not doing this with
intentions to run for office. I am writing because as a taxpayer it
bothers me seeing things going the wrong way.
With all the letters I have been writing in the Free Lance for the past 10 months, I am sure you know me by now. Many people have been telling me to continue to write because my letters make a lot of sense and are interesting to read. I am not doing this with intentions to run for office. I am writing because as a taxpayer it bothers me seeing things going the wrong way. Seeing our leaders making bad decisions, seeing public workers abusing their power. I feel our opinions, in these cases, are very important. If you write without mentioning names, even if you refer to one person. I am sure three or four might think this was written for me and they might be more cautious. My letters are not right for the schooling I have, because sometimes I have to guess the words I write.

My letters are right, and based on interest I have in seeing things work for everybody. My interest is seeing a healthy community. I like to share the many years of experience I have and the knowledge I learned from that. I am always sure what I write is the truth. Sometimes, the truth hurts. I feel that the truth is necessary to discipline. In all my letters, I never had one person call me a liar or tell me that they disagreed with my opinions. To the contrary, I have had nothing but complements. I have had people tell me that they are collecting my letters. I have one person tell me that finally there is something in the paper that is interesting to read.

Now, with the new rules established by the Free Lance, it will be impossible for me to write.

I only write with common sense and the truth. When you stop people from expressing their opinions, especially about the truth, you are siding with the wrong crowd. Those rules only benefit a few, and they are the ones who don’t deserve it. I bet our president doesn’t like what he hears about himself – having all the fingers pointing at him, even worse, the jokes and cartoons. He knows that is the democratic way.

There is a saying, “If you can’t take the heat, then stay away from the fire!” As I said, there are times that the truth hurts. I am sure I did step on someone’s toes. I must have had a reason. I am always sure I can prove what I say and write. I have no regrets or apologies. This is America, and I have studied the American Constitution before I became an American citizen.

From now on, you probably won’t hear much from me because of the new rules the Free Lance has laid down regarding their Letters to the Editor column. Gook luck everybody. God Bless America! This is only my opinion.

If anyone thinks something is wrong with this is my opinion, please let me know.
