Dear Editor:
There are traffic jams sometimes requiring a wait as long as 10 minutes while (San Benito High School) students cross Nash Road.
The guard does a good job, but I have seen students dash between cars before the guard can stop them. This a dangerous crossing. Also in case of an emergency, a few minutes wait could end up in death.
It seems as if there are two options: Close Nash Road between Monterey and West streets or build an overpass.
I have been told the overpass would be too expensive. How much is a person’s life worth?
There have been talks, but talk is cheap. Now is the time to act.
Maybe there are some concerned citizens who would be willing to contribute their knowledge, time or money. How about it?
