Mr. Don Kelley of Autoworks came before the Board of Supervisors
during public input time which only gave him five minutes to inform
them of what he termed ‘a major concern’ with county vehicles,
especially the sheriff patrol cars. During the period of time that
he worked on them, he found them to be unsafe to drive due to
faulty brakes, loose steering wheels and many other problems he did
not have time to elaborate on. Why has the Board turned a deaf ear
to him? They have refused to let him be on the agenda so he can
bring forth his claims.
“Mr. Don Kelley of Autoworks came before the Board of Supervisors during public input time which only gave him five minutes to inform them of what he termed ‘a major concern’ with county vehicles, especially the sheriff patrol cars. During the period of time that he worked on them, he found them to be unsafe to drive due to faulty brakes, loose steering wheels and many other problems he did not have time to elaborate on. Why has the Board turned a deaf ear to him? They have refused to let him be on the agenda so he can bring forth his claims. What if he is right? Wouldn’t you think the Board would show concern and demand that it be looked in to? How come the deputies, whom Mr. Kelley contacted to verify his findings, don’t come forward? Have they been ordered not to?

If there are dangerous conditions with the patrol cars, I should think that the wives and families of these deputies would march down to the next Supervisors meeting and demand that the Board make sure those patrol cars are in proper running condition.

As Mr. Kelley said, ‘This could create a major liability on the Board and County if something happened with one of those cars that caused an injury or death to a deputy or citizen.’

This to me is pure stupidity on the Board’s part. Sheriff Hill is claiming non-responsibility as he does not handle contract negotiations. I claim he has a moral obligation to make sure his deputies have safe running cars. If they informed him of their findings, he should have taken it directly to the Board.

I can only surmise that there has been a stranglehold put on by the Board to keep the truth from coming out. The cat is out of the bag now and the best thing to do is right the wrongs instead of continuing the cover-up for the good of all.”

“What is the deal with that guy that owns the big restaurant in town that always writes in about ‘Boss’ something or other? I have news for him, the food and the service are terrible sir, and perhaps a bank would be best left alone.”

“Why does City Council member Tony Lobue continue to go on and on about Highway 25 every single week? I think two miles of the road are in the city limits.

Maybe he needs to run for the Board of Supervisors if he wants to do something about the road or go to work for Caltrans. But since he can’t even remember when the $35,000 is due from an ‘art group’ of taxpayer money he gave away, I doubt he could do any better than he is doing now. And that is not good. Voting for all those new homes on Fairview! Only one more year of Tony.”
