San Juan Bautista officials are asking for relief at local restaurants, schools and daycare centers from a ban against drinking tap water following test results showing the city’s groundwater supply is well below the maximum nitrate standard.
City Manager Roger Grimsley in a report at Tuesday’s council meeting said the city had asked the state water board for relief from the ban against drinking tap water. He mentioned requesting relief for restaurants, schools and daycare centers.
