A juvenile with moderate injuries was transported by air ambulance to a regional hospital from Spring Grove School after a collision between two pickup trucks near Fairview and Fallon roads around 9:30 a.m. Jan. 3.
First responders also reported moderate injuries to the driver of one of the vehicles who was being transported by ambulance to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital.
The driver of a white Chevy pickup truck containing two passengers was northbound on Fairview Road while the driver of a black GMC pickup truck was eastbound on Fallon Road and attempted to cross the intersection.
CHP Officer Erica Elias said Jan. 11 after an investigation of the accident, CHP officers concluded it was a failure to yield at a stop sign by the driver of the black GMC that caused the accident.
After the black GMC struck the white Chevy, both vehicles collided with a guardrail.
Drivers experienced minor backups in the area as officers were directing drivers northbound on Fairview Road onto Fallon Road as they cleared the scene. Authorities also reported debris and liquids were in the roadway.
