Visitors to San Benito County had a chance to meet as many as 27 local artists during the 2013 Open Studios Tour, hosted by the San Benito County Arts Council on Saturday and Sunday. Despite highs in the 90s on Saturday, visitors still made the trek to the studios of local creators in Hollister, San Juan Bautista and Aromas.
The annual event is free to the public through funding from the San Benito Arts Council, Art Works and the California Arts Council, along with other local funders. Visitors had a chance to see artists such as Kent Child, who works with ceramics, and Joe Daughenbaugh, who is a wood carver, at work in their studios. Other artists including Meg Kaminski and Chenoa Warner showed their 2-D artwork throughout the weekend, with some visitors stopping by just to look and others looking to pick up some artwork.
