Hollister Animal Control officers are seeking the owner a dog that allegedly bit a Savemart employee in the parking lot of the store Tuesday at 6 p.m. Animal Control officers were dispatched to the scene, but the dog’s owner left with the dog before they arrived.
Witnesses reported the dog who allegedly bit the employee was a medium to large German Shepherd mix with black and brown fur, with some graying on its nose and a small white patch on its face, according to the police statement.
The statement reads as follows:
The dog was described as being on a leash. The owner was described as male, approximately 6’, gray hair and mustache, wearing khaki shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. The owner appeared to have prior injured hand.
The employee was treated and released immediately for minor injuries.
Animal Control needs to make contact with the owner of this animal to check the dog’s vaccination records and to quarantine the animal for observation. The Hollister Police Department Animal Care & Services Bureau needs your help in identifying this dog and owner.
