Hollister police arrested a 39-year-old Hollister man who met up with a 16-year-old girl he had met on Facebook, according to the Hollister Police Department.
Police arrested Jorge Ornelas after an interview about the situation and booked him at the San Benito County Jail, with recommended charges including rape, annoying or molesting a child, possession of child porn, violating sex registration requirements and violating parole, according to the HPD.
Police received the report of a missing juvenile Sunday and soon realized she may have been in the company of Ornelas, a registered sex offender – listed as a transient – who was on parole. Police found the two at a home on the 600 block of Hillcrest Road and returned the missing juvenile to her family, according to the HPD’s statement on the matter. Ornelas is being held at the jail without bail.
