Police have closed Brigantino Park for the third time since June after a mountain lion sighting reported Wednesday afternoon, according to the Hollister Police Department.
Two visitors reported the sighting Wednesday. Police and animal shelter employees responded but could not locate the animal.
The park is closed and will be monitored for the next few days by Hollister Police Departments Animal Care & Services Bureau, according to a statement from police. If the animal is sighted the public is asked to call 911 to report it.
There have been previous sightings, leading to Brigantino Park closures, in September and June. The park, opened earlier this year, is located in the 2000 block of San Juan Hollister Road.
