San Benito County District Four Supervisor Reb Monaco is reaching out to South County residents with an office at Bolado Park.

Starting next week, Monaco will meet with residents of his district at the new office on the third Tuesday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. with a second session from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

“It’s a well-known place and it’s a really accessible place for some of my constituents,” Monaco said. “It gives me the opportunity to meet with them.”

He said the idea to open an office with regular meeting hours came from former Supervisor Curt Graves.

“He used to have a little office in Tres Pinos where he would meet with people,” Monaco said.

Monaco believes the office’s central location will make it easier for people in the outer reaches of his district to get in touch with him.

“This way, they don’t have to drive all the way into town,” he said.

The office space at Bolado Park was loaned to Monaco through the cooperation of Kelley Ferreira, manager of the San Benito County Fairgrounds.

“He wants to be supportive of the community with the park’s facilities,” Monaco said.

He said word of his Bolado Park office hours is already sparking interest among South County residents.

“I’ve already had a few people come looking for me,” Monaco said.

Monaco defeated two-term Supervisor Ron Rodrigues in the Nov. 5 general election.
