This is the time of the year when everyone shows some happiness
regardless of the circumstances.
Dear Editor,

This is the time of the year when everyone shows some happiness regardless of the circumstances. I would like to thank God not only for the good things, but also for the things we’re not so pleased with because it could have been worse. I’d like to admit this year was tough for many politicians. First, Measure G was a victory for the majority and the county regardless of what the opposition thinks. The election for our president was a victory for the Republicans. I lost my vote, I voted for a change. Regardless, now George Bush is my president. He went with the majority. I believe to keep good democracy, a majority is a must.

I can’t forget the vote from our supervisors against the majority on the “hilltop ordinance.” In my opinion, these are the kind of leaders we do not need representing us. Shame, Shame.

In the District 5 controversy, I believe Bob Cruz created his own downfall. First, his stance on Measure G – it was his privilege, but he has to suffer the consequences. In my opinion the second mistake was rebelling over his name and the opponents. I think he was over reacting and people take that into account. Anybody who votes would see the difference in those two names, Bob Cruz and Jaime De La Cruz. I would be offended if I lived in his district. I have been running my mind over all of the events and I don’t see anyone involved being so good they could throw rocks.

Over 30 years ago, I had a conversation about the county problems with Frank Borovich of Tres Pinos. Frank told me “we’re all crooks one time or another, direct or indirect.” I didn’t take this so well. I thought Frank was going to far. After all these years, I’ve thought about Frank many times and I feel Frank was right. What I’d like to say in my opinion, no one involved is clean.

It’s time for reconciliation after I learned of Jaime’s illness. I feel he was the winner with the majority of the votes he has the right to serve his turn, for his family’s sake. I find him to be a humble man I believe that between the others he will sit well. In my opinion, Mr. Bob Cruz must accept what he creates. The other ones involved need to judge themselves before trying to bury the De La Cruz family alive.

Our county needs peace and we couldn’t ask for it at a better time.

There is an old saying “that the big dog always has advantage over the little dog.” Forget, if you want to be forgiven. I hope God forgives all of us and we all can enjoy a beautiful season. For the one’s who enjoy my letters I wish them a Merry Christmas. I have to say, this is only my opinion.
