Hollister City Council members tonight will start hearings for the 2008-09 budget.
Council members are scheduled to hold meetings at 6 p.m. tonight, Wednesday and Thursday at Hollister City Hall, 375 Fifth St.
Mayor Doug Emerson said today he expects “very few negotiations” for the first full budget cycle that includes the Measure T sales tax revenue. His questions for the hearings, he said, revolve around gaining a better understanding of the city’s smaller funds – not so much the general fund that covers much of the spending.
