City Hall

Hollister council members Monday approved the hiring of an assistant city manager, Brett Miller.
Council members unanimously OK’d a contract with Miller, an accounting manager with the city for the past five years. In his new role, officially titled administrative services director/assistant city manager, Miller is set to make $119,427 annually plus benefits. His salary as accounting manager was $88,900 in the most recent, available records from 2012.
City Manager Bill Avera said Miller got the finance office job over other “really, really good” candidates interviewed during the hiring process. He replaces former Administrative Services Director Robert Galvan.
“He unanimously came out first,” Avera said. “I think he’s a tremendous asset to the community, and we are very, very fortunate to have him.”
