The news that the rally has been cancelled has left me speechless. At first, there were many things I wanted to say and call the anal retentive council members, but chose not to lower myself.
My family and I have attended the Independence Day Rally for over two decades, that’s four generations that have planned their Fourth around Hollister.
This decision has nothing to do with finances. The bikers bring in more money than it cost to put on the rally (if it doesn’t, I seriously recommend an audit, or at least a quick look into the finances of the council members). This is about your typical NIMBYs (Not in my backyard!) who have been elected to represent the city of Hollister.
This is a disgrace!
