at Hollister City Hall.
Two residents are set to get sworn in as council members Tuesday at Hollister City Hall.

Councilwoman Pauline Valdivia is set to be sworn in for her fourth four-year term on the council representing District 3 on the south-central side. Robert Scattini will be sworn in for his second term on the council representing District 2 on the west side.

Scattini first served from 2002 to 2006. Councilwoman Eugenia Sanchez defeated Scattini in 2006 but did not seek reelection this year.

Scattini won a second term by defeating newcomers Sergio Montanez and Estevan Guzman. He gained 406 votes to 392 for Montanez and 318 for Guzman.

Valdivia won by beating newcomer Scott McPhail. She had 69.2 percent of the vote to 435 for McPhail, according to the election results.

After the swearing in, council members will turn to electing the mayor for the next year. One of the council members is elected as mayor each year. Victor Gomez is finishing his term as mayor.

The council meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 375 Fifth St.
