City Council members tonight will vote on a plan for spending

the Measure T sales tax increase, which went into effect in

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at 375 5th Street and is open to the public.
Added public safety positions and added funds for the parks and recreation department both were promised to voters when they passed the 1 percent sales tax increase last November.
City officials have said they would stay true to facing those issues, and City Manager Clint Quilter has said the money would fund several new police officers, firefighters, maintenance workers, clerical jobs and a recreation coordinator.
A citizens oversight committee made up of volunteer citizens will compile biannual reports on how the Measure T money is spent. The group will have no influence on where the dolla
