Donald entered into God’s care, surrounded by his loving family, following a brave and gallant fight with a long illness.

His devoted wife, Shirley, to whom he was married for 55 years, survives him. He is also survived by his four daughters, Cynthia Thamtrongkitkul, Carla Casey, Cheryl Mesquita-Larsen, Connie Swanson and their spouses. He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and leaves behind two sisters, Mildred and Clara.

Donald was born on a dairy farm in Hollister, the youngest of 5 children. He joined the Navy during the Korean War. He worked as an electronics Plant Manager and later became a business owner.

A memorial celebration will be held at Darling Fischer-Chapel of the Hills, Los Gatos, on January 30, at 10 A.M. Following the memorial, a military service will be held at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, in Gustine.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 4850 Union Ave., San Jose, CA 95124.
