Jim West, Chris Martorana and Tony Boch took the early lead in the race for three open San Juan Bautista council seats, according to early results released Tuesday.
The three seats are open with five candidates running, with Maggie Bilich and Ray Sanchez in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
After the initial mail-in ballots came through, West had 98 votes, or 26.63 percent, to 91 votes for Martorana, 87 for Boch, 47 for Sanchez and 34 for Bilich, according to the unofficial results.
