The county’s elections office is short workers for the June 3 primary, according to the head elections official.
Clerk-Auditor-Recorder Joe Paul Gonzalez on Tuesday told county supervisors the elections department is “short on help,” especially for bilingual workers.
“While we have enough coverage now, sometimes on an election day people call in sick or whatever,” Gonzalez said.
He mentioned how there is a stipend involved as well. The elections office pays $150 for election day and another $15 for training, said Senior Bilingual Deputy Clerk Francisco Diaz.
