The environmental review of the regional park and river parkway began in earnest last week with a meeting involving members of the parks and recreation commission and administrators overseeing the environmental review – and continued with an official meeting of the parks and recreation commission last Tuesday evening.
“We’re actually just getting it (the review) kicked off,” said Adam Goldstone, the capital projects manager for public works in Hollister.
The initial study of the proposed parks is currently in public review until Oct. 25, said Janelle Cox, a management analyst for the county administrative office, in an e-mail.
However, the draft environmental impact report for the project should be concluded by February for public review, said Goldstone.
“They (the county) still have to do all their analysis,” he said.
He said the final report likely will be finished by early summer next year and submitted to the board of supervisors for approval.
