Hollister resident Rob Bernosky ran for State Assembly in 2012. He is regional vice-chair of the California GOP.

Gilroy’s Chamber of Commerce board of directors has unanimously endorsed Republican Rob Bernosky for California 30th Assembly.

“California needs true transparency and leadership that can bring our economy back. Rob Bernosky understands business and will ensure that common sense will prevail,” wrote Susan Valenta, president of the Chamber of Commerce in a press release.

The Chamber of Commerce opposes Assembly incumbent Luis Alejo, who is vying for the seat, for his “support of job-killing legislation and anti-business measures,” the press release read.

Bernosky lost to Alejo by 22 percentage points in the 2010 election for Assembly in a Democratic-leaning district, which has since been redistricted to drop San Jose and include Morgan Hill.

Bernosky has worked in various sectors of business for more than 20 years, including software, financial services, semiconductor and personal electronics.

Born in Delaware, Bernosky lives in Hollister with his wife Jenny Bernosky. They have three children.
