It’s a housing market in which foreclosures don’t exist and a little sweet equity will go a long way.
San Benito County residents will compete in the Hollister Downtown Association’s third annual Gingerbread House Contest today through Dec. 14. Elegant Touch will host a reception for the contest from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15.
The two rules are that the houses can be made from anything, but must be edible, and they have to fit on a 24-by-24-inch display board.
The five categories include sponsor employees or baking and cooking businesses, families, local businesses, children ages 8 to 12 and children ages 7 and younger.
The HDA encourages residents to come downtown and check out the contest entries.
