Editor,

I am a mildly religious person, in fact I might even be Agnostic. I was raised a Christian, but have since formed my own views, which include evolution as the best explanation for life on earth, not saying that God did not kick everything off. After doing a lot of reading on Intelligent Design, not only is it a science stopper, but it also seems blasphemous.

ID is saying that they know that God did it, as if we humans can now understand the work of God. In simple scientific terms. We are in essence saying that we have the mental capacities to “see” what God is doing and what he has done. In other words, we now understand God. It seems to me that God is supposed to be all knowing, the greatest intellect, and superior to all humans. ID is saying no no we have figured God out. We “know” what he did. No longer does God work in strange and mysterious ways. We humans can now understand God, which means we are at the same mental level as God.

It just seems sacrilegious to claim that we now know how God works, and to bring him down to our level.
