Joan B. Ingram passed away peacefully on Feb. 12 in Watsonville.

She was born in 1931 in Tailholt as the daughter of Walter J. and Ruth Bellah.

Her family lived for many years in the San Lorenzo Valley before moving to Aromas in 1982.

Joan was a real estate broker, tax preparer and publisher of the Tri-County News. She was also the former secretary for the Ben Lomond Fire Distarict. She graduated from Porterville High School and attended San Jose State University and Porter Junior College. Joan was a writer, artist and craftsperson and was well known for her craft items and watercolors of historical Aromas buildings as well as her many other hand-drawn watercolors.

She was a life-long member of the Aromas Grange and enjoyed serving as cashier for a host of events sponsored by the organization. She was active in many community groups and always donated her time to help preserve the quiet county feel of Aromas. She was also a founding member of the Aromas Community Improvement Group, a member of the Nan Pipestem Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and a past member of the Aromas Hills Artisans.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James H. Ingram; her son James W.D. Ingram; her daughter Ruth E. Ingram; and her grandson Quintin Lopez-Johnson, all of Aromas.

At her request, there will be no services. A memorial will be held at the Aromas Grange on Sunday, Feb. 20 from 2 to 4pm. For directions, call 726-2959. A private burial will be held in Porterville.
