Shelter manager thanks sheriff’s workers

Dear Editor,

The Homeless Shelter of San Benito County would like to say thank you to the San Benito County Jail including Lt. Ed Escamilla, all the correctional officers and especially the inmates that do our linens every day for the shelter. We would like to apologize that it takes losing the dryer before we realize how much you do for us. We sincerely appreciate all that you do and again would just like to say thank you.

Transit lawyer keeps close eye on buses

Dear Editor,

It’s $374,000.00, not $34 million.

I called you from the Southside Road COG Bus Yard, mid-morning yesterday.

Three shiny, big, green-and-white – the biggest one in the COG fleet, were sitting parked in a row. One-hundred percent empty – 100 percent empty, 100 percent waste of our money. And COG has the arrogance to buy two more!

And we roll over and let them do it to us?
