With regulations on boats and recreational vehicles scattered throughout the city code, council members are set to consider streamlining those rules at their Monday meeting.
The Hollister City Council is set to meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Hollister City Hall, 375 Fifth St.
Council members will consider updating the current RV and boat regulations. Those rules are found in chapters 8, 10 and 17 of the municipal code, making it difficult for citizens to fully understand and comply, according to the proposed ordinance update.
Those current RV rules, adopted in 1978, require the vehicles to be parked directly behind structures, five feet from the property line and 10 feet from the structure – restricting it to a small number of properties here, as noted in the agenda item.
Under the proposed revision, residents could store their RVs on the side of some structures, allowing the fire department better access.
