Missed the dog but hit the sign

A Hollister woman and her 1-year-old passenger received minor
injuries Monday after she rolled her SUV while swerving to avoid a
dog crossing Highway 156.
Miriam Hassan, 22, of Hollister and her 1-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon in an accident on Highway 156 near Lucy Brown Lane.

Hassan was westbound in a 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser at about 3:20 p.m. when a dog ran across the highway, the California Highway Patrol said. She swerved to the right to avoid the dog and struck a sign and a utility pole, flipping the vehicle onto its side, the CHP said.

Hassan and the infant were treated at Hazel Hawkins Hospital and released, the CHP said.
