After some drier weather, rain returned to Hollister on Tuesday, with 0.63 inches falling at a monitoring station just outside Hollister, according to the National Weather Service.

Precipitation is expected to continue throughout today, while Forecaster Diana Henderson with the National Weather Service in Monterey noted how showers are expected again Friday and Saturday, with a slight chance for precipitation Sunday.

The totals are inching the Hollister area closer to surpassing its average rainfall for the season after drought conditions the past couple of years.
