Pearl M. Woahn died Thursday, April 4, 2003 in Santa Clarita. She was 83.
Mrs. Woahn was born in San Jose to Santo and Rose Cacioppo Lomanto, who had immigrated to the U.S. from Sicily and raised their 11 children in San Jose and later in Hollister. She spent most of her childhood on the family ranch in Hollister, where the family raised apricots and plums. She married David B. Woahn in Salinas on Nov. 18, 1950 and the couple lived in Glendale, Granada Hills, Palmdale and Valencia.
She is survived by her husband; her children and their spouses, Janice and Eric Brown of Moorpark and Bill and Heidi Woahn of Pleasant Grove, Utah; her brothers and sisters, Dominic and Sam Lomanto, both of Hollister, Ann Miles of Antioch and Mary Kloepfer and Stella Martin, both of Gustine; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joachim’s Church, 1121 Main St. in Newman, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Private interment will be held Thursday at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
