Grow becomes Eagle Scout
Ryan Grow, of Troop 787, received his Eagle Scout Award in August 2007. His Eagle Project was a blood drive through American Red Cross at San Benito High School. More than 70 faculty members, staff and students donated more than 42 pints of blood, surpassing the estimates for the drive by the Red Cross. The blood drive was coordinated by Grow in the O’Donnell Gym. He did a lot of preparation in advance.
His troop committee chairman was surprised at how thorough Grow was in preparing for the blood drive. The hope was that the blood drive would teach students at a young age not to fear donating blood.
Grow is the son of Steve and Heidi Grow. He is the oldest of their four children and is attending Brigham Young University.
