Ramona Lerma Abeyta died Saturday, Nov. 29 at Hazel Hawkins Northside Convalescent Hospital. She was 90.

She was born in Mexico and lived in Hollister for nearly 75 years. She had previously lived in the San Joaquin Valley and Coachella Valley working in agriculture and was a nurse’s aid in Anaheim for a time.

She liked music, the color red and was a very prayerful person. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jennie Gutierrez of Hollister, Bob and Amelia Lerma of Gilroy; sisters Margaret Hayes of Riverside, Teresa Gaxiola of Sunnyvale and Katie Limon of Orange County. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Friends can pay their respects Tuesday, Dec. 2 from noon until 9 p.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The Rosary will be at 7 p.m.

The Mass will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Friends may gather at the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. for a procession to the church.

Interment and graveside services will follow the Mass at Calvary Church.
