Last week, I wrote to you regarding a political piece of junk mail I received from Peter Frusetta. In this letter I am concluding those comments.
In this piece of mail he referred to our officials and said it was time for them to “quit playing games.” I’m not sure exactly who he’s referring to with this statement, but I sincerely doubt any of them have been “playing games.” Everyone I’ve read about seems to take all of this extremely seriously.
I personally find it to be a new kind of low for a politician to show blatant disregard for the destruction of reputations in order to achieve his own personal gain. In the wild off chance that he did get elected, which I sincerely doubt would ever happen, there might be other outraged citizens who would start a recall campaign against him.
In case anyone had not thought about this fact: It is only two years until the new election. If you are dissatisfied with anyone, exercise your right to vote then! In the meantime the idea of spending $100,000 or more for a recall for someone who has done nothing worthy of being recalled is ridiculous when we are currently laying people off in our county.
Consider how the people who have been laid off feel when they hear that we can spend many thousands of dollars on a couple of people’s personal vendettas but do not have enough money so that those people can live and support their families. That amount would likely pay for two to three employees and support their families for an entire year! I know which I would choose.
