Louise Galdos Branum

Louise Galdos Branum was born to Beatrice and Tom Galdos on Jan. 31, 1910 in Amador, where her father was a gold miner. Louise and her family moved to Hollister in 1926, when she was just 16, and went to work for K & S Market, where she was the very first female employee. She worked there until 1982.

Louise enjoys life to the fullest and  remembers the joy of growing up in Hollister. She is the second oldest of 10 children and enjoys spending every Sunday afternoon with her three sisters, singing and talking about the old days and current events.

Peter Guenther

Peter Guenther was named to the Dean’s Honors List for fall 2010 at UC Riverside. He is a sophomore and is on the track team.

Daniel Apuzzo

Daniel Apuzzo was named to the President’s List (3.75 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale) for the fall semester 2010 at California State University at Long Beach.

He is the son of Denise and Nick Apuzzo of Gilroy.

Casey Larson

Casey Larson was named to the Saint Mary’s College Dean’s List for the fall semester 2010. A student must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale to earn academic honors at Saint Mary’s.

She is the daughter of Don and Sue Larson of Morgan Hill.

Nina Baio

Nina Baio, of Morgan Hill, was named to the Dean’s List for the 2010 fall semester at the University of Portland. She is a junior majoring in social work. Students need at least a 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for the list.

Mary Thatcher

Mary Thatcher, of Morgan Hill, was named to the Dean’s List for the 2010 fall semester at the University of Portland. She is a freshman majoring in secondary education. Students need at least a 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for the list.

Nicolyna M. Enriquez

Nicolyna M. Enriquez, a member of the Class of 2011 at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester of the 2010-11 year. Students whose grade point averages were 3.6 or higher are named to the Dean’s List.

Enriquez, daughter of Philip Enriquez and Marian Sacco of Morgan Hill, is majoring in art history.
