The San Benito High School Class of 2006 and the Sober Grad Night Committee need your help to put on an event that will be exciting, memorable and safe.
Individuals and businesses are needed to sponsor a game or an event. We also need volunteers to assist with security, booths, entertainment and food concessions. All cash donations are tax deductible.
The Sober Grad Nite committee is a non-profit group comprised of parents, students, community members and San Benito High School staff, dedicated to providing the seniors with a safe and sober graduation celebration on the night of their graduation, Friday, June 9, 2006. Sober Grad Nite is an important tradition to keep alive in our community. It is a chance for the seniors to gather one last time in celebration of their accomplishments, before they part ways to go on to college, vocational paths, or whatever future they have chosen.
This year’s event will take place on campus at San Benito High School in the O’Donnell Gym. It begins at 8 p.m. and ends at 4 a.m. There will be a variety of activities that occur during the night, including movies, food, prizes, entertainment and dancing. Graduated seniors may attend for free. Last year’s celebration entertained 160 sober seniors. It is the hope of the high-school staff and the 2006 Sober Grad committee members to increase that number this year to those who choose to celebrate their graduation in a safe and sober environment.
The committee and the senior class need individuals or businesses to sponsor a game or entertainment (karaoke, movies, etc.), or prizes for a raffle. Volunteers are needed to help with security, booths, entertainment and food concessions. Three shifts are available to choose from.
Tax-deductible donations to purchase food, decorations, prizes, and other necessary items can be made payable to “Safe and Sober Grad Nite.”
Donations of water, soda, juice, chips, or other snacks would be greatly appreciated. For further information, contact the Sober Grad committee at
