Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the holiday with your family and friends. We are definitely having a wet Christmas down here in South County and it is beautiful. Instead of a white winter wonderland, we are having a wet, green wonderland!

December is a month full of birthdays. Allison Renz celebrated her birthday on Dec. 17 while Glenna “Gramma Goofy” Porteur celebrated a big birthday last weekend as well. Glenna was surprised last Saturday evening as her family pulled off the ultimate surprise party for her at the Vault Restaurant in Hollister. Many friends and family members were on hand to wish Glenna a happy birthday. Birthday wishes to both Allison and Glenna this week.

Vern and Jo Ann Scattini hosted their annual Christmas party at the Bitterwater County Club last Saturday evening as well. Most of Bitterwater was on hand to partake in the celebration.

The rain just keeps coming down and it is a sight to see. We’ve had almost two inches at our place in the last four days. Bill and Robin Rist reported more than three inches at their place. Les and Betty Sans had more than two and half inches and Wyatt and Lacy Bourdet had about four inches over in San Juan Bautista. Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!

Here’s wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and wet new year!
