It’s official, South County schools are back in session. It’s
hard to believe that summer is already over. I can remember when I
was in school, we had summer break for a full three months and we
didn’t go back until after Labor Day weekend. It seems like summer
gets shorter every year. But, then again, it’s also nice to get
back into a routine.

Todd and I will miss our helpers, though, now that the kids are getting bigger, they can actually help out with a lot of chores around here.
J.W. and Candace Brewen hosted an end of summer/birthday BBQ at their place last Saturday evening. We were celebrating the end of summer and JoAnn Scattini’s birthday. Those enjoying the evening included: Vern and JoAnn Scattini; Casey Sabin; John, Susan and Annie Nino; Laurence and Donna Hansen; Jeff, Jean and Steve Schmidt; Sami Jo, Rory and Jo Ellen Johnsen; Hec, Kasey, Taylor, Twyster and Tatum Hurley; Andy, Tamra, Wacey and Mattie Barrington; and me, Todd and the kids.
In buck news, Andy Barrington got a nice one last Sunday and Caroline Madson got her first buck last Sunday as well. Congratulations, guys!
Pop Warner football season is in full swing in King City. This is Buddy’s first year playing and last week was his first full week of practice. He’s been doing a lot of running and has been eating like a horse! The kids got their pads last Friday so this week they’ll get to start tackling, which he is really looking forward to. Not too much longer ’till we get regular season college and pro football.
