Hollister police and other authorities Monday recovered guns and ammunition in a local raid and had been pursuing a wanted suspect, but he turned himself in Thursday, according to police.
Suspect Patrick Barraza turned himself in at his attorney’s office Thursday without incident and was arrested on suspicion of felony charges involving the firearms, ammunition and illegal items found in his home, according to the Hollister Police Department in a statement.
At about 8 a.m. Monday, police recovered assault rifles, handguns and 3,000 rounds of ammunition from a home in the 1500 block of McCloskey Road, according to police. The suspect, Barraza, 47, was not home at the time of the raid.
Police in a statement alleged the guns were stored from criminal street gang activity.
