There are about 10 medium-sized potholes on the road, which acts as a border between the city and San Benito County. The potholes – there is a series of three of them shown here in this photo – can act as a detriment to drivers heading either way, east or west, on Buena Vista Road.
This time of year, there can be an increase in the number of potholes around town due to the rainy conditions. It’s no surprise they showed up on the aging Buena Vista Road, especially with the series of storms that hit Hollister in the past couple of weeks.
County and city public works crews collect a list of potholes to fill as they arise, and both agencies are now aware of the problem on Buena Vista Road.
The location of the potholes is right near where the jurisdiction splits.
