Our beloved Vallie Grae Bishop passed away on Saturday March 5th,2011, in Morgan Hill, CA, after a grand existence of living life to the fullest.

She was a loving and courageous individual whose quiet strength and pleasant wit was noticed and admired by all who knew her.

Born on April 9, 1953, the “Birthday Princess” spent her formative years in Los Gatos and Hawaii. She remained friendly with her childhood friends to this day.

A lifelong gardener, she managed the Garden Center at Santa Cruz Lumber in her early working career. After that, she owned and managed Gavilan Honda in Gilroy.

Vallie was a giver. She donated her time and energy to Rebekah Children’s Services of Gilroy, and it was here, at a Christmas Fundraiser, she met the love of her life, Rich Devlin, when he volunteered to play Santa. They had years of happiness together and she was forever grateful to have him in her life.

Athletic and able-bodied, Vallie was a champion paddler. She raced with Pu Pu O’Hawaii and was one of the stars of her team.

She leaves her husband, Rich; her step-children, Sean and Alisa; her Aunt Cathy Rode; her niece; Leala, and numerous friends. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Johnson’s Funeral Home in Morgan Hill CA .
