Solargen Energy’s proposal for a 399-megawatt solar farm in Panoche Valley is headed for its final steps before the San Benito County Board of Supervisors, likely at a Nov. 10 special meeting.
The San Benito County Planning Commission on Wednesday approved Solargen’s use permit and development agreement in unanimous 5-0 votes. The vote on the use permit is a final approval under normal circumstances, but county officials expect an appeal from project opponents, said Byron Turner, assistant planner.
Supervisors are set to consider the development agreement at the special meeting, the date for which should be official Friday, Turner said. If there is an appeal on the use permit, supervisors would consider it at the same meeting, he said.
Those two votes by supervisors Nov. 10 would be the final steps for Solargen in the county approval process.
