4-H Youth adviser, Bill Collins (deceased) said

Once a 4-Her, always a 4-Her.

Dear Editor:

4-H Youth adviser, Bill Collins (deceased) said “Once a 4-Her, always a 4-Her.”

I have found this to be true. Over 35 years of my life has been devoted to the 4-H Youth Program – as a member, as a parent and leader and as secretary to the late Bill Collins.

The 4-H youth program offers so much more than cooking and cows. It offers leadership opportunities and the chance to appear in public at conferences, fairs and as a volunteer at community events.

The 4-H program is already run on fund-raising activities – the 4-H Council holds their annual pancake breakfast to raise funds for the 4-H program and the individual clubs are dependent on fund raising and donations for their club budgets. The 4-H members, leaders and parents have too much to offer San Benito County for this program to be eliminated.
