Street light at the corner of Sally and Third Streets is not working correctly.

Resident complains about streetlight problems

It has been an on again, off again year for residents living near a light pole close to downtown Hollister that has been flickering for the past few months.

A local woman called the Red Phone to complain about the streetlight at the intersection of Sally and Third streets. She said it has been going on and off for three months – mentioning that crews came out about a month ago to work on it “all day,” but that it still is causing problems.

“It still keeps going off and on,” she said.

City crews leave the work up to Pacific Gas & Electric because it has jurisdiction over the streetlights. A spokesperson for PG&E could not be reached immediately, but the Red Phone will make sure to check back on the issue.

Residents can call PG&E at 1-800-PGE-5000 or go to the website pge.com. They should have the pool number from the light when calling.
