The Dunneville Dance Hall built in 1890 lay demolished at the San Benito County Historical Park after it succumbed to the high winds from the last storm over the weekend.

The San Benito County Historical Society members decided to cancel the second Annual “Raise the Roof” fundraiser that was set for this last Wednesday due to low ticket sales. The event was intended to raise money to rebuild the Dunneville Dance Hall at the County’s Historical Park. It will likely be rescheduled for next Spring.

In the meantime, there are still a limited number of memorial plaques made from wood from the original Dance Hall available for $250. They will be displayed in the new Dance Hall and are a way to memorialize or honor yourself, your family or a loved one. If you are interested, please contact Don Pidd while they are still available.

Those who would like to contribute to the Dance hall or other projects at the Historical Park, can call Don Pidd at (831) 902-9349 or residents can go online and visit http://www.sbchistoricalsociety.org.
