Casey Deidrick, who grew up in Hollister before moving to
Colorado his freshman year of high school, is now living in Los
Angeles while pursuing a career in acting. The 22-year-old has been
doing so quite successfully.

Casey Deidrick, who grew up in Hollister before moving to Colorado his freshman year of high school, is now living in Los Angeles while pursuing a career in acting. The 22-year-old has been doing so quite successfully.
Deidrick’s most recent role is on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” as Chad Peterson. Deidrick plays an ex-boyfriend of Mia, played by Taylor Spreitler. Mia showed in the fictional town of Salem, pregnant, and gave her baby up. She is now stuck in a love triangle with Will Brady (Dylan Patton) and her ex Chad.
Deidrick’s first stab at acting began when he auditioned for a school play as something he and a friend thought would be funny.
“I was a junior in high school. A friend and I auditioned for a musical as a joke,” Deidrick said. “We sang a rock song in the audition and somehow managed to land supporting roles.”
However, things changed after Deirdrick’s first acting experience. He had become more interested in acting, taking acting classes in college and eventually moved to Los Angeles to further his career.
“Being an actor provides a sense of fearlessness,” Deidrick said. “I can experience things in character that I could never experience myself.”
Though it has only been two and a half years since Deidrick moved to Los Angeles he has already starred in well-known shows such as Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” and the CW’s “90210.” Deidrick has played everything from an alcoholic student to a goofy prankster to a drug addict.
“They were all unique and each show gave me a chance to explore myself as an actor,” Deidrick said.
Besides being able to have the chance to work with several different directors in Los Angeles and experiencing multiple styles of production, Deidrick has also had the opportunity to work with other actors and learn various styles.
“L.A. has provided me with opportunities that I wouldn’t have had anywhere else in the world,” Deidrick said.
Besides having a passion for acting Deidrick loves music as well. He is the lead vocalist in a Metalcore/Hardcore band called “A Dreadful Fall.” The band has been together for about three and a half years now and can be found on MySpace. Deidrick also is an avid skateboarder for the past 10 years and continues to do so as often as he can.
However, none of this would have been possible without the support Deidrick has received from his family.
“I’ve been blessed with very supportive parents who have always encouraged and inspired me,” Deidrick said.
“It’s unreal [seeing Deidrick on television], just weird,” said Deidrick’s father Barry, who lives in Hollister. “I just smile every time I see it.”
