Anna Serrano paints a porcelain pig for her daughter, Gabriella, 7 months, during Tuesday's Familia Barbecue at Dunne Park.

The Hollister Youth Alliance on Tuesday hosted a Familia
Barbecue that featured art activities for young mothers and fathers
in the program, along with their children. It included such
activities as finger painting, piggy-bank painting and painting
maracas. The HYA tries to hold two similar events each year, with
the last barbecue
– the one Tuesday – for showing art, said Familia case manager
Elizabeth Morales. Parents taking part in the event ranged in age
from 14 to 21, she said.
