It’s green in time for St. Patrick’s Day
We’re celebrating the green out here in Bitterwater these days.
The warm weather should really help the grass grow this week,
hopefully we’ll get another shot of rain again next week to keep
the grass growing. Wildflowers are starting to pop up everywhere as
well. It sure is pretty this time of year.

The Monterey County Cattlemen’s Association held its annual spring meeting last week in King City. Congratulations to John Orradre and Patti Nunes for being selected as Cattleman and Cattlewoman of the Year. They both were very well deserved honors.
The students of Bitterwater-Tully School headed north to San Jose last Wednesday for a field trip to the Children’s Discovery Museum. They all had a great time and spent hours exploring the museum. I had never been there so I enjoyed the trip as well. Some other parents enjoying the trip included Tamra Barrington, Kasey Hurley, Cynnie O’Connor and Marianne Madson.
The Salinas Valley Fair is right around the corner and applications for the Miss Salinas Valley Fair Hostess Contest are being accepted until March 14. The contest is open to young ladies who are juniors and seniors in high school and who reside in Monterey County and the portion of San Benito County that resides in the King City Union High School District. Not only does the winner get to represent the fair for the next year, but they also are the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship. For more information, contact contest coordinator Marianne Madson or the Salinas Valley Fair office.
Last week I mistakenly wished John Brewen birthday wishes when I meant to say “Get Well” wishes for being a little sore after a small horse related accident. So, get well soon John!
Have a great week, enjoy the warm weather and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at we********@ao*.com with any news you’d like to share.
