YMCA Executive Director Rochelle Callis is in her first year with the YMCA here and has helped organize the healthy kids event set for Saturday.

Launching during the event is Healthy Family Home, a program
designed to help families incorporate healthier habits at home.
The YMCA is putting on Healthy Kids Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the YMCA building on Fifth Street.

The event is free and will give families a chance to learn about healthy choices and healthy lifestyles. Vendors will have booths with helpful information for families.

Launching during the event is Healthy Family Home, a program designed to help families incorporate healthier habits at home. Healthy Family Home is funded by Eli Lilly and Company.

Sponsors for the event include: Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital, Earthbound Farm, Damm Water, San Benito Bank, Waste Management, Man Packing, West Marine and Soni Dos Los Primos.

There will be nearly 28 booths at the event, including the California Highway Patrol, Hollister Fire Department, San Benito County Farm Bureau, Eagle Recycling, Jump-2-It and San Benito Health and Human Services.

YMCA Executive Director Rochelle Callis said there will be games, face painting and camp sign-ups at the event. Fifth Street from the front of the YMCA building to Monterey street will be closed for the event.
