Every year, Vietnam War veteran Eddie Bauer coordinates a Memorial Day observance, which includes a flag salute, raising the deceased flag in honor of a fallen veteran, children’s songs, and the reading of the 36 names on a plaque at the Veterans’ Memorial Square on Monterey Road and First Street. Veterans and residents gathered Monday morning to participate in the festivities, which include a Patriotic Sing with school children.
