Our first Red Phone caller of the week asked the Crimson Crusader what could be done to make sure skateboarders at the Daniel Yetter Memorial Skate Park are obeying all the rules.
The Crimson Crusader believes skateboarding safety is important, so our hero called Hollister Police Officer Rosie Betanio to get some help. She said officers routinely patrol the park and hand out citations to rule-breakers. Repeated violations of the park rules could result in fines of up to $1,000.
The Crimson Crusader also called David Rubcic, associate civil engineer for the City of Hollister, for a brief re-cap on the park rules. First and foremost, helmets, elbow pads and knee pads are required! It’s the law. Also, no bikes and no scooters, he said.
Let’s see that sign
Our next Red Phone caller, a Hollister man, asked the Crimson Crusader to get the street sign near his home off the ground and up. The sign, our caller said, had been taken down during a recent construction project on Cedar Street in Hollister. However, our caller said, the sign was still on the ground even after the construction work had finished.
The Crimson Crusader again called Rubcic to ask about getting the street sign put back up. Rubcic said he would look into the problem right away and see what could be done.
The Crusader’s Attire
Our final Red Phone caller of the week, a Hollister woman, inquired about the color of the Crimson Crusader’s cape. Why, dearest caller, they don’t call our hero the Crimson Crusader for nothing. Our hero’s cape is a deep, mysterious shade of red.
