Congressman Sam Farr during his annual town hall meeting here made a prediction about the next Super Bowl, and it involved Hollister.
Farr, D-Carmel, mentioned during his town hall how the “word’s out” that the Hollister Municipal Airport is the most convenient route for small aircraft flying in for the Super Bowl next February in Santa Clara.
“The word’s out with the Super Bowl coming that the fastest way” to the game is by landing in Hollister, he said.
The Hollister airport is about 54 miles from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara where the NFL will hold its title game, according to Google Maps.
“For some reason, that’s faster than the Palo Alto area and everything else,” Farr said, noting how closer airfields are expected to experience more congestion.
